Uganda Community Centre Canada (UCCC) is a federally incorporated non-profit organization serving as a strategic "Support Bridge" for Ugandan-Canadians. We empower individuals and families to navigate life in Canada while preserving and celebrating our rich cultural heritage.

George William Wilobo

George William Wilobo

Founder & Executive Director

George William Wilobo is a multi-disciplinary leader and results-driven strategist with over 17 years of experience spanning the business, social, and health sectors. Recognized for his ability to blend academic rigor with entrepreneurial agility, George has built a career defined by organizational transformation, system quality assurance, and a steadfast commitment to human rights.

As the Founder and CEO of Global Express Services Inc., George has successfully launched and scaled a diverse ecosystem of business portfolios. His entrepreneurial track record demonstrates a high-level mastery of operational logistics and market-driven solutions through business portfolios like; Brookside Staffing Agency to bridge the gap in workforce solutions, Global Events Canada, a premier corporate events firm, GlobEx Shipping, and GlobEx Money Transfer platform to facilitate global remittances.

A certified Human Rights Consultant via the U.S. Institute of Diplomacy and Human Rights (USIDHR), George is a prominent voice for social equity and refugee support. He has served as a founding strategic advisor for the African Centre for Refugees and is a global ambassador for the Great Lakes Peace Centre. His leadership extends to significant advisory roles with the United States African Development Foundation (USADF) and various government parastatals, where he applies ISO standards to ensure organizational excellence.

George's approach is rooted in Management Analytics, allowing him to translate complex data into actionable business intelligence.

Whether leading community initiatives as an Executive Director or steering his corporate enterprises, George Wilobo remains dedicated to driving continuous improvement, fostering international partnerships, and creating sustainable social and economic value.
Caroline Nayebare

Caroline Nayebare

Director of Finance & Administration

Carol is an Outreach Peer and Support Worker at Fred Victor, where she is dedicated to supporting individuals through direct community engagement. She brings a strong background as a results-driven financial services professional, having previously excelled in a fast-paced banking environments as a personal Banker. In that capacity, she consistently assisted numerous clients daily with their financial needs, providing comprehensive product support and ensuring exceptional client experiences.

Her expertise lies in promptly addressing client questions, facilitating transactions efficiently, and connecting individuals with the right resources to help them achieve their goals. Carol is deeply committed to prioritizing client success and proactively identifying effective solutions. Her approach is characterized by empathy, a strong appreciation for diverse perspectives, and a continuous pursuit of learning from others' experiences.

Motivated by achieving goals and delivering impactful results, Carol cultivates meaningful relationships built on trust, respect, and authenticity within her diverse network. She is a fast learner, consistently expanding her knowledge by undertaking new courses on relevant subject matters.
Tonny Muzira

Tonny Muzira

Chief Operating Officer & Programs Director

Tonny is a dedicated professional with over nine years of experience as an Organizational Policy and Development Specialist across Uganda and Africa. As a Male Engagement Expert and Meaningful Youth Engagement Specialist, he champions inclusive practices, empowering young people, men, and marginalized communities.

He co-founded and served as Director at the Centre for Black Development Options (CBDOC) and focuses on gender equality, women's rights, sexual and reproductive health, homelessness, and HIV prevention among Black immigrants and refugees. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Public Administration with a focus on Justice, Law, and Public Policy, Tonny brings lived experience as a refugee and immigrant to drive systemic transformation.
Joseph Kasaija

Joseph Kasaija

Director of Community Engagement & Culture

Joseph Kasaija is a Public Health Specialist with over 10 years of experience in health promotion, Behavioral Change and Communication (BCC), policy design & analysis, and project management. As an HIV/AIDS advocate, women's rights activist, and gender equality champion, he has dedicated his career to improving the well-being and Sexual Reproductive Health Rights of young people in underserved communities through research and evidence-based advocacy.

Previously, Joseph was a strong pillar at the African Centre for Refugees in Ontario-Canada (AFRCOC) for humanitarian programming and implementation. He currently works with the City of Toronto in Service Quality Assurance, bringing his expertise in public health advocacy and community engagement to enhance service delivery and community well-being.

His work focuses on social inclusion, menstrual hygiene management, and creating sustainable health interventions that address the unique needs of immigrant and refugee communities.
Henry Ssali

Henry Ssali

Strategic Adviser and Director of Government Relations

Henry Ssali is a scholar-practitioner, policy thinker, and community leader working at the intersection of higher education governance, food security, and diaspora-led institutional reform. He is a PhD candidate in Educational Leadership and Policy at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), University of Toronto.

His doctoral research examines student government advocacy, institutional legitimacy, and policy responsiveness during crises, with particular attention to equity-oriented governance during the COVID-19 era. A central strand of Henry's scholarship focuses on food security and food migration, exploring how access to culturally familiar foods shapes holistic well-being, belonging, and mental health among international students and immigrant communities.

Henry holds a Master's degree in Educational Policy and a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from the University of Toronto. He has served in multiple senior governance and alumni leadership roles across the university, where he is known for rebuilding democratic structures, advancing accountability, and translating research into actionable policy reforms.

He is the founder and Executive Director of the African Alumni Association, a volunteer-led organization advancing mentorship, recognition, and cultural exchange across African and Afro-diaspora communities.
Ricardo John Munyegera

Ricardo John Munyegera

Senior Advisor, Research & Empowerment

Ricardo John Munyegera is a Ugandan Ph.D. student at McGill University's School of Social Work, specializing in refugee studies and community development. He arrived at McGill with an MA in Public Policy and Good Governance (Democratic Governance and Civil Society) from the University of Osnabrück and a BA in Education from Makerere University, Uganda.

With extensive research experience gained through working and living with refugees in Uganda, East Africa, and Germany, Ricardo aims to understand refugee local integration policies and how they sustain the self-reliance model in Uganda from a Social Work perspective.

His research focuses on: "Social Work Practices among Vulnerable Communities; The Refugee-Host Integration Strategy Implications on the Self-Reliance Model; Community Social Work Approaches in sub-Saharan Africa; Social Policies; and Community Development". His research interests extend to refugee and host-community development, social policy analysis, and evidence-based approaches to community empowerment.

Ricardo brings a unique blend of academic rigor and practical field experience to UCCC, ensuring our programs are grounded in research while remaining responsive to community needs.
